Mixed Ability Yoga Classes

Relax and unwind with Hatha Yoga

Yoga is a system that uses breath work and body movement. There are many different styles and methods and yoga can mean different things to different people. Yoga can help:

  • Tone and strengthen the body

  • Increase flexibility

  • Calm the mind and promote inner peace

  • Encourage a positive state of mental and physical well being

  • Explore aspects of ancient yoga philosophy

My mixed ability adult yoga classes are open, relaxed and friendly. My students were all beginners once and I still remember starting my first class in Chicago wondering what was it all about and not being able to touch my toes……..

My classes contain both men and women of all ages and backgrounds. My classes tend to work around a core theme and a set of asanas (yoga postures) which enables you to get to grips with the different poses, how to come into and out of them and how they make you feel. All classes end with some relaxation.

All my classes are available to all levels of ability, flexibility and stiffness!  You don’t need to be able to touch your toes and you may be more flexible than you think. The best approach is to have an open mind and a sense of humour.

For someone who says that ‘yoga isn’t really my thing’, I have really enjoyed Karen’s Yoga classes and workshops which I have attended a few of now! The format is accessible for all levels of yoga enthusiasts, including beginners (like me) and with Karen’s insight into the heritage of yoga, including the chakras, the sessions have also been extremely healing and exactly what I needed at that time! Chances are you will also end up laughing and having a good time, as Karen is a very warm and humorous yoga instructor. I highly recommend that you sign up for at least one class and give it a go. You can attend either in-person or online, so what’s stopping you!? Have fun! Xx
